Held from July 11 until July 14, the 2019 Pacific Exposition was officially opened in Auckand, New Zealand on Friday morning.
Organized in collaboration between Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand, the series of events aims to accelerate the improvement of regional cooperation in the economic, tourism and cultural sectors.
"I conveyed appreciation for the cooperation extended by New Zealand in the holding of Pacific Exposition 2019," Minister Retno said on her official twitter account this morning.
"Indonesia looks forward to the 3rd Joint Commission Meeting between the two countries to be held this year. Underlined the Importance to conclude the Plan of Action on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Indonesia," Minister Retno added.
The Pacific Exposition includes a range of events from the Tourism Forum (11 July), the Business and Investment Forum (12 July), the Pacific Cultural Forum (13 July), and the Pacific Arts and Cultural Festival (12-14 July), and will be concluded with the Sound of the Pacific concert (13-14 July).
At the Pacific Tourism Forum, hundreds of business players from a number of sectors such as infrastructure, communications, and tour operators gathered to discuss a collaborative networkon theestablishment of One Pacific Destinationm framework for the Pacific region.
More than 100 companies will participate at the Pacific Business and Investment Forum to take advantage of the regional economic potentials worth US$ 2.6 trillion in GDP, in addition to its 300 million inhabitants.
Meanwhile, at the Pacific Cultural Forum, Indonesia will invite the Pacific countries and territories to work together to preserve cultural heritages and globally promote the Pacific identity.
