Accoording to the ministry, 36 of them have recovered from the disease. In the meantime, nine people have succumbed to their illness.
"The total number of recoveries is 36," the ministry said in a press statement on Monday, April 6, 2020.
Last week, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahendra Siregar explained President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's policy in mitigating the impact of covid-19 through an interactive video conference with more than 120 foreign embassies and international organizations in Jakarta.
The video conference was delivered by the deputy minister of foreign affairs together with Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara, and Government Spokesperson for covid-19 Handling as well as Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health Achmad Yurianto.
The deputy minister conveyed a wide range of government measures, including the declaration of public health emergency status and the implementation of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).
The deputy minister also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and assistance of friendly countries, as well as inviting optimization of the use of hotlines and stronger coordination in minimizing the impact of the spread of covid-19.
