British Foreign Secretary Expresses Condolences for Sriwijaya Air Plane Crash

Jakarta: British Foreign Secretary has expressed his condolences for crash of Sriwijaya Air Flight SJ182 en route from Jakarta to Pontianak on the island of Borneo.

"Very saddened to hear about the Sriwijaya Air plane crash in Indonesia yesterday," the British official wrote on his official twitter page on Sunday evening local time.
"My deepest condolences to the families affected and my thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time," he added.

In the meantime, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) to conduct an investigation on the accident.

In addition to that, the President has also ordered the Ministry of Transportation, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to carry out search and rescue operations as quickly as possible for the victims

“We pray together so that the victims can be found,” President Jokowi said here on Sunday.
