"Thanks for the vote of confidence! Received the highest number of votes from member states. A reflection of trust towards Indonesia’s leadership in pushing forward international cooperation in the face of #Covid19," the minister wrote on her official twitter page on Wednesday.
"Looking forward to working with my co-chairs and colleagues from #COVAXFacility and @gavi, to ensure equitable access of vaccines for all countries, particularly developing and least developed countries #oneworldprotected," the minister stated.
The COVAX AMC Engagement Group is comprised of all AMC-eligible participants, donor governments and other stakeholders.
The COVAX Facility is part of COVAX, the vaccines pillar of the Access to Covid-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, which is co-led by CEPI, Gavi and WHO – working in partnership with developed and developing country vaccine manufacturers, UNICEF, the World Bank, civil society organisations and others.
COVAX is the only global initiative that is working with governments and manufacturers to ensure covid-19 vaccines are available worldwide to economies of all financial means.
