According to the Indonesian president, the UN represents an ideal and shared commitment of all nations to realise world peace and prosperity for our future generations
"A healthy and productive world must be our priority," the former Jakarta governor said.
To that end, the UN must prove that multilateralism delivers, strengthen collective global leadership, and strengthen cooperation in tackling Covid-19 health and social economic impact.
"Let us solidify our commitment and consistently carry out our commitment to work together," President Jokowi stated.
Held virtually due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, the annual event's theme for 2020 is The Future We Want, the UN We Need: Reaffirming our Collective Commitment to Multilateralism-Confronting Covid-19 through effective Multilateral Action.
