    Indonesia, Ethiopia Express Keenness to Boost Cooperation

    Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that Ethiopia is one of Indonesia's important partners in Africa.

    The Indonesian top diplomat hold a bilateral meeting with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly in New York on Monday local time. The Indonesian minister discussed a wide range of cooperation opportunies during the bilateral meeting.

    "We hope Ethiopia can become a bridge for Indonesia and Africa," Minister Retno told reporters after the bilateral meeting.

    The two foreign ministers also signed Memorandum on Understanding (MoU) on Diplomatic and Service Visa Exemption. They are confident that the cooperation will lead to greater cooperation between the two countries.

    Minister Retno said that Ethiopia is interested to increase cooperation on peacekeeping. She revealed that Ethiopian officials recently visited the Indonesian Peacekeeping Traning Center in Sentul, Bogor, West Java.

    "They are interested to increase cooperation on peacekeeping," Minister Retno said.
