    Indonesia Proposes Cooperation to Support Medical Equipment Supply Chains

    Jakarta: Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi participated in the virtual biweekly Ministerial Coordination Group on COVID 19 (MCGC) on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

    Minister Retno had a discussion with ten ministers and deputy ministers of foreign affairs from Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, and the United Kingdom,

    "Indonesia proposed the creation of information exchange cooperation that can facilitate collaboration between the private sector in producing and distributing medical equipment," Minister Retno said in a statement on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

    According to Minister Retno, the cooperation will allow the private sector to share information about each other's capacities and resources.

    This initiative is a concrete manifestation of Indonesia's efforts to translate the commitments of MCGC member countries that seek to improve coordination and synergy to overcome the impact of covid-19.

    The MCGC is a cooperation group that aims to strengthen international coordination and to manage the social and economic impacts of the covid-19 pandemic.
