medcom.id, Jakarta: At least 44 countries has confirmed their attendance to Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime. Minister of Foreign Affairs stated the preparation for the meeting has reached 95 percent.
"It is almost prepared. Bali Process will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali on March 22-23," said Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Arrmanatha Nasir, Jakarta, Thursday (3/17/2016).
He added the 44 confirmed participants comprising of member and observer countries.
"Moreover, six international organizations, 13 ministers, 8 deputy ministers has also confirmed their attendance," he continued.
This year's Bali Process meeting will produce two outcomes namely Co-Chair Statement and Bali Process Ministerial Declaration.
The event consists of senior officials meeting in the first day and ministerial conference in the second day that will be co-chaired by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Australian Minister of Immigration Peter Dutton.
Bali Process is a regular meeting that has been held since 2002. 47 countries and three international organizations are invited this year. The meeting is regional forum intended to enhance cooperation and discussion on people smuggling, human trafficking and other related crimes.
