    Bandung Extends Enforcement of Large-Scale Social Restrictions until May 29

    Bandung: The Bandung city administration has decided to extend the enforcement of the large-scale social restrictions until May 29 in a bid to tackle the spread of the covid-19 in West Java Province's capital.

    "We agreed to extend the implementation of PSBB until May 29," Bandung Mayor Oded M. Danial here on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

    "The decision was taken after studying all aspects, including social, economic and public health aspects," the mayor added.

    Earlier this week, relevant ministers and all regional heads were ordered to strengthen covid-19 task forces at the neighboring unit (RT), community unit (RW), and customary villages.

    According to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, the most effective control of the spread of covid-19 is at the levels of RT, RW and customary villages.

    As of Monday afternoon, the central government recorded 18,010 confirmed covid-19 cases, 4,324 confirmed recoveries and 1,191 confirmed deaths.

    "From 30 districts, 29 of them are black zones, while the other one is a red zone. We need to break the chain of covid-19 infections in Bandung," Oded said.
