    5.3 Magnitude Quake Shakes Off Waters of North Maluku's Daruba

    Jakarta: A 5.3 magnitude earthquake was reported at 09.20 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in waters off North Maluku Province's Morotai Island.

    According to a report from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake did not trigger any tsunami warnings.

    With a depth of 97 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 103 kilometers northwest of Morotai Island's Daruba City.

    On March 18, 2020, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit the same area. The earthquake also did not trigger tsunami alerts. There were no reports of damage and injury due to the earthquake.
