    Jokowi Calls for Social Distancing to Slow Down Covid-19 Spread

    Jakarta: President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has urged the public to practice social distancing by staying at home, while remain calm, vigilant and not to panic to slow down and stop the spread of Covid-19. 

    President Jokowi delivered the message at the Bogor Palace, Bogor City, West Java Province on Sunday, March 15, 2020.

    “Following the current situation, it is time to work from home, pray at home, and study at home,” President Jokowi was quoted by the Cabinet Secretariat's website.

    On that occasion, President Jokowi underlined that this is also the time to unite and support each other. 

    “The Government needs public support and mass movement to tackle this issue,” President Jokowi was quoted as saying.

    According to President Jokowi, the ministries and other related government agencies have prepared various anticipative measures to handle the current situation.

    As of Sunday, March 15, 2020, the country has announced as many as 117 confirmed Covid-19 cases and five deaths.
