Jakarta: Bird flu virus was detected in the middle of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak in China. The Ministry of Health is also wary of the spread of this bird flu virus.

"We anticipate (the bird flu virus), in principle it is the same, this virus is from poultry," said Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health Anung Sugihartono at the Ministry of Health Office, South Jakarta on Monday, February 3, 2020.

Anung said the initial step was to anticipate the bird flu virus by informing the community. He explained that maintaining good health is important to prevent exposure to the virus.

"Of course, the improvement of public health is very important and we must increase its quality," said Anung.

The Ministry of Health has no data on whether poultry in Indonesia has been infected or not by the bird flu virus. Ministry of Health is coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) to check the issue.

"We have been in contact with friends from the Ministry of Agriculture who have now increased awareness in the sector," Anung said.
