Indonesia Reports 5,092 New Coronavirus Cases

Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Tuesday reported 5,092 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 543,975.
 
From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients across Indonesia was up by 4,361 to 454,879
 
In the same period, the country's official covid-19 death toll rose by 136 to 17,081.

On Tuesday morning, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan announced that he tested positive for coronavirus and is currently undergoing self-isolation at his official residence in Central Jakarta.
On the same day, the Riau Province Health Agency also announced that Riau Governor Syamsuar and his wife Misnarni conracted coronavirus.

To tackle the spread of coronavirus, Indonesian people have been urged to implement strict health protocols such as wearing face masks, regularly washing hands and always maintaining safe distance.
 
In addition, the Indonesian government has distributed medical supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE), portable ventilators, pcr test kits, and reagents.
