On Tuesday, labor unions held rallies across the country after the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) passed the controversial Job Creation Bill into law.
According to reports, workers plan to hold more rallies later this week.
"People who want to use their democratic rights should not forget to implement health protocols," the spokesman said during a virtual press conference here on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Tuesday confirmed 4,056 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 311,176.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Monday noon to Tuesday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries across Indonesia was up by 3,844 to 236,437.
Meanwhile, in the same period, the official covid-19 death toll in the country rose by 121 to 11,374.
