KPK Arrests Maritime Affairs Minister in Sting Operation

Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo in a sting operation last night.

"We conducted the sting operation from Tuesday evening until Wednesday early morning," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango here on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party politician was arrested at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten at around 01.23 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

"It is related to lobster seeds," KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron stated.

Besides the minister, KPK also arrested a number of persons and brought them to the KPK headquarters in South Jakarta.

"Just wait. We will reveal the detailed information later," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.
