    6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes West Sumatra, No Tsunami Risk

    Jakarta: A 6.3 magnitude earthquake shook West Sumatra Province on Tuesday morning at around 08.44 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

    According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the strong earthquake did not trigger tsunami warnings.

    With a depth of 10 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 109 kilometers southwest of Tuapejat region.

    "Stay vigilant as aftershocks may still happen," the agency said in its official website on Tuesday.

    There were no reports of damages or casualties so far from the earthquake.
