Bogor: West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has encouraged private hospitals in Bogor Regency to support the handling of covid-19 in the region.

According to the governor, Bogor Regent Ade Yasin could cooperate with those private hospitals to increase the number of isolation beds in the regency.

"The move is needed to lower the occupancy rate," the governor said here on Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed as many as 4.538 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases across Indonesia to 315,714.

From Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients was up by 3,854 to 240,291, while the official covid-19 death toll rose by 98 to 11,472.

To flatten the covid-19 curve, authorities have been implementing various strategies, including through 3T (testing, tracing, and treatment).

"West Java still needs more reagents and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test kits," the governor stated.
