    Indonesia Reports 5,647 New Cases of Coronavirus

    Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force today recorded 5,647 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 1,697,305.
     
    From Wednesday noon until Thursday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 5,440 to 1,552,532.
     
    In the past 24 hours, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 147 to 46,496.

    The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has taken comprehensive measures regarding the ban on the annual mass exodus (mudik) ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri as well as efforts to control the covid-19 transmission during the holy month of Ramadan 2021.
     
    According to Chief of the Security Management Agency of the National Police (Kabaharkam Polri) Commissioner-General Arief Sulistyanto, the National Police has increased mobility restriction points across the islands of Java, Bali, and Sumatra.

     



    From May 6 until May 17, the National Police will act firmly on those in violation of the mudik ban.
