    Jakartans Urged to Comply with Covid-19 Health Protocols

    Jakarta: Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has reminded Jakarta residents to comply with covid-19 health protocols during this week's long weekend.

    "Let's maintain health and safety while enjoying long weekend," said the former education minister during a videoconference here on Wednesday afternoon.

    "If we want to protect our parents and relatives, we must wear masks, maintain safe distance and regularly wash our hands," he stated.

    Indonesians will enjoy long weekend from October 28 until November 1. Indonesian Muslims will celebrate Mawlid, observance of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, on Thursday. More than 100 thousand vehicles reportedly have left Jakarta Special Capital Region as of Wednesday.

    Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Wednesday confirmed 4,029 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases across the country to 400,483.

    Based on data issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients in Indonesia was up by 3,545 to 325,793.

    Meanwhile, in the same period, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths in the country increased by 100 to 13,612.
