According to the Joint Regional Defense Command I (Kogabwilhan I) Spokesperson Marine Colonel Aris Mudian, some 2,249 covid-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms are receiving inpatient care in towers 6 and 7 of the Kemayoran Athletes Village.
Meanwhile, some 1,457 coronavirus patients with no symptoms are undergoing self-isolation in towers 4 and 5 of the building complex.
"The total number of inpatients in towers 6 and 7 has reached 27,550 since March," said the spokesperson in a written statement on Friday.
To tackle the spread of coronavirus, Indonesian people have been urged to implement strict health protocols such as wearing face masks, regularly washing hands and always maintaining safe distance.
In addition, the Indonesian government has distributed medical supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE), portable ventilators, pcr test kits, and reagents.
