Over 700,000 Health Workers Prepared for Covid-19 Vaccination Program

Jakarta: The Covid-19 Handling Task Force Spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito has said that as many as 739,722 health workers will be prepared for the planned covid-19 vaccination program.

According to the Covid-19 Handling Task Force official, the health workers will consist of general practicioners, specialist doctors, nurses and midwives.
"The Ministry of Healths will also deploy 23,145 vaccinators at public healths centers and hospitals," said the spokesperson in a written statement issued on Friday.

"Currently, the government is still waiting for the results of phase 3 clinical trials," he stated.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has called on his Cabinet to ensure the safety and effectiveness of covid-19 vaccine procurement and vaccination.

According to the President, all stages of the trials must be based on scientific processes and data, as well as proper health standards, while stressing that safety and effectiveness aspects of the vaccine become the public main concern, including experts and researchers.

In addition to safety and effectiveness, public access to vaccine distribution must also be ensured and well planned. 

Moreover, the implementation of the vaccination must also be clearly explained to the public.
