The proposals are believed to help accelerate the implementation of government programs.
"The President should immediately fill the deputy minister positions," Awiek said in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Awiek said ministries that need deputy ministers are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Awiek congratulates the appointment of ministers in the new cabinet. He claimed several new names surprised him.
PPP understands the reasons for President Jokowi to elect 34 ministers. According to him, the President has carefully considered the selection of ministers.
"Of course the President has already checked and considered carefully," said the Secretary of the PPP faction in the DPR.
Awiek hopes that the cabinet ministers can immediately carry out their duties. The ministers are expected to be able to translate the President's vision to become a developed country by 2045.
"We see those in the cabinet as a combination of both new and old generations with achievements in their respective fields," he explained.
PPP gets one ministerial position in the new cabinet. PPP Acting Chairperson Soeharso Monoarfa was picked as Minister of National Development Planning.
