"It has been decided. They will repatriated with an airplane," the minister said here on Thursday, February 27, 2020.
"We are currently preparing the flight schedule. We will send a wide body airplane to Japan," he added.
According to him, the 68 Indonesians will be repatriated in the next one or two days. After that, the evacuated Indonesians will be put under observation for 14 days on Sebaru Kecil island.
As many as 78 Indonesians work as crew members aboard Diamond Princess. Eight of them tested positive for COVID-19.
The cruise ship has been quarantined in the Port of Yokohama since early February 2020. The Japanese government have greenlighted the planned evacuation of the 68 Indonesian crew members.
