Indonesia Reports More Than 8,000 New Coronavirus Cases

Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Thursday reported 8,369 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 557,877.
 
From Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients across Indonesia was up by 3,673 to 462,553.
 
In the same period, the country's official covid-19 death toll rose by 156 to 17,355.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus patients in the Athletes Village Emergency Hospital increased by 127 to 3,283 on Thursday morning.
"The number of covid-19 inpatients in towers 4, 6 and 7 reached 2,392, while the number of asymptomatic patients in Tower 5 reached 891," said the Joint Regional Defense Command I (Kogabwilhan I) spokesperson Marine Colonel Aris Mudian in a written statement on Thursday morning.

According to the spokesman, some 360 covid-19 inpatients recovered from the disease today.
