Indonesia Logs 5,533 New Coronavirus Cases

Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Wednesday reported 5,533 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 549,508.
 
From Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients across Indonesia was up by 4,001 to 458,880.
 
In the same period, the country's official covid-19 death toll rose by 118 to 17,199

The Athletes Village Emergency Hospital in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta are currently accommodating 3,335 covid-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms and asymptomatic coronavirus patients.
Operated by the central government, towers 6 and 7 of the Kemayoran Athletes Villages are used to provide inpatient care for covid-19 patients with mild to moderate cases.

Meanwhile, towers 4 and 5 of the building complex are used as self-isolation flats for coronavirus patients with no symptoms.
