    Jakarta: The Government has distributed 1.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine to 7 provinces across Indonesia, according to the Ministry of Health Spokesperson Siti Nadia Tarmizi.

    "We have distributed all of the 1.1 million doses," the Ministry of Health official told Medcom.id here on Wednesday.






    The 7 provinces are Jakarta Special Capital Region, Riau Islands, Bali, East Java, North Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku.

    On March 8, Indonesia secured 1.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine in finished form. 

    According to Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, the vaccine was the first shipment of the first batch via the COVAX facility.

    COVAX facility is a multilateral collaboration seeking to ensure equitable global access to covid-19 vaccination and has 92 member countries.

    The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs is also a co-chair of the multilateral vaccine cooperation program COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC) Engagement Group (EG).
