From Thursday noon until Friday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 7,907 to 1,779,127.
In the past 24 hours, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 290 to 54,043.
In a bid to curb covid-19 transmission following the spike in cases and new variants in the past month, Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas has issued Circular Number 13 of 2021 on Religious Activity Restriction in Places of Worship.
It serves as a guideline for activities in places of worship.
According to the Minister, religious activities in red zones are temporarily suspended until the area is declared safe from covid-19 by the local government, which has the authority to determine risk zones.
