Indonesia Records 4,860 New Cases of Covid-19

Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Wednesday reported 4,860 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indonesia to 1,547,376.
 
From Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 5,769 to 1,391,742.
 
In the past 24 hours, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 87 to 42,064.

According to the Ministry of Health Spokesperson Siti Nadia Tarmizi, the Government has distributed 1.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine to 7 provinces across Indonesia.



"We have distributed all of the 1.1 million doses," the Ministry of Health official told Medcom.id here on Wednesday.

The 7 provinces are Jakarta Special Capital Region, Riau Islands, Bali, East Java, North Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku.

On March 8, Indonesia secured 1.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine in finished form through the UN-initiated COVAX Facility.
