"Some 8,641 people are currently receiving treatment or undergoing self-isolation," the Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Control and Prevention Division Head Dwi Oktaria was qoted by Media Indonesia on Friday.
"The latest PCR test rate is 149,541 people per one milllion people," she added.
On Thursday, Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,917 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indonesia to 516,753.
From Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, there were 3,842 recovered covid-19 patients and 127 confirmed covid-19 deaths across Indonesia.
As of Thursday, the Indonesian government has recorded 433,649 recovered covid-19 patients and 16,352 confirmed covid-19 deaths.
To tackle the spread of coronavirus, Indonesian people have been urged to implement strict health protocols such as wearing face masks, regularly washing hands and always maintaining safe distance.
In addition, the Indonesian government has distributed medical supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE), portable ventilators, pcr test kits, and reagents.
