Indonesia Reports 9,321 New Coronavirus Cases

Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Thursday registered 9,321 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Indonesia to 797,723.

From Wednesday noon until Thursday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 6,924 to 659,437.
Within the same period, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 224 to 23,520.

To tackle the spread of the virus, the Indonesian government will implement new covid-19 restrictions in the islands of Java and Bali for 14 days from January 11 until January 25.

In addition to that, the central government also plans to launch the covid-19 vaccination program next week.

To ensure that the vaccine is safe and halal, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will be the first person to receive the vaccine.
