38 Million Indonesians to Get Vaccinated in Phase Two of Covid-19 Vaccination

Jakarta: The Indonesian government plans to vaccinate at least 38 million people in the second phase of its national covid-19 vaccination program.

According to information gathered by Breaking News Metro TV, in the second phase, the government will vaccinate more than 16.9 million public workers and 21 million senior citizens.
The "public workers" category comprises 5 million teachers, 4 million market traders, 2.6 million public service officers, 2.7 million state civil apparatus, 1.2 million public transportation workers and 1 million military and police personnel.

The government will also vaccinate 92 thousand tourism workers, 5 thousand media workers, 1,203 athletes, 69 thousand religious leaders and 33 thousand legislators.

The plan is based on guidelines from  World Health Organization (WHO), Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) WHO, and Indonesian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ITAGI). 

Launched today, the second phase is expected to complete in May 2021.
