    Indonesia's Confirmed Covid-19 Cases Climb to 227: Spokesman

    Jakarta: The government today confirmed 55 new covid-19 cases across Indonesia, increasing the total number of covid-19 cases in the country to 227.

    "From 12.00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until 12.00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, we recorded 55 new confirmed cases," government spokesperson on matters related to covid-19, Achmad Yurianto, said here on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

    According to him, 30 cases were found in Jakarta Province, 12 cases were found in West Java Province, four cases were found in Banten Province, two cases were found in Central Java Province and one case was found in North Sumatra, Lampung, Riau and East Kalimantan.
     
    As of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, as many as 11 confirmed patients have fully recovered, including the first confirmed patients of covid-19 in the country.

    In the meantime, the death toll of the covid-19 outbreak in the archipelago has risen to 19.
