    62 Companies in Jakarta Closed Down for Violating Covid-19 Restrictions

    Jakarta: The Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Disnakertrans) closed down 174 companies from September 14 until October 6, according to Disnakertrans Head Andri Yansyah.

    "112 companies were closed after we detected covid-19 cases there, while the other 62 companies violated health protocols," said the Disnakertrans Head in a witten statement on Wednesday.

    "We inspect a total of 928 companies during that period," he added.

    Jakarta Special Capital Region is still the epicenter of covid-19 crisis in Indonesia. The Jakarta Health Agency registered more than one thousand new covid-19 cases on Tuesday.

    From Monday noon to Tuesday nooon, the total number of confirmed cases in Indonesia's capital rose by 1,007 to 81,043. However, the number of active cases in the province decreased by 47 to 12,922.

    Earlier this week, Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Deputy Speaker Azis Syamsuddin revealed a total of 40 lawmakers and staff tested positive for coronavirus.
