    Musi VI Bridge to be Operational in October 2020

    Palembang: South Sumatra's Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUBM-TR) has continued the construction of the Musi VI Bridge which was stopped in early 2019. 

    The Musi VI Bridge is targeted to be operational in October 2020.

    According to the Head of the Road Sector Division of the PUBM-TR , the progress of the construction of the Musi VI bridge had reached 80 percent. Current work is focused on acquisition of land and construction of access roads.

    "The remaining 20 percent is acquisition of land and construction of access roads,” Muchtar said here on Monday, November 18, 2019.

    Muchtar said the South Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov) has prepared a budget of IDR 9 Billion to continue the construction of the Musi VI bridge, 

    "Our target is that the bridge would be operational in the third quarter of 2020," he explained.

    South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru said that he believed the Musi VI bridge could be operational next year. The Musi VI Bridge is expected to lessen the congestion in Palembang City.

    "Yes, we hope in October 2020, the Musi VI bridge would be operational," he said.
