"There are additional 113 cases," government spokersperson on matters related to covid-19 handling Achmad Yurianto said at the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) headquarters in East Jakarta on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Yurianto added the number of recoveries increased by 9 to 112 between Wednesday noon, April 1, 2020 and Thursday noon, April 2, 2020. He added that the death toll rose by 13 to 170 in the period.
The Ministry of Health official also urged the public to maintain personal hygiene and implement physical distancing. He also advised young and healthy people to protect elderly and other vulnerable groups.
"Especially people who suffer chronic disease," Yurianto stated.
Due to this emergency situation, the government decided to allocate up to Rp4015.1 for the handling of the ongoing covid-19 outbreak. It includes Rp75 trillion for healthcare spending, Rp110 trillion for social protection, Rp70.1 trillion for tax incentives and credit for enterprises, and Rp150 trillion for economic recovery programs, including credit restructuring and financing for small and medium businesses.
