Jakarta: As many as 64 state-owned hospitals are ready to face the spread of the coronavirus. They continue to conduct socialization related to the deadly virus.

The socialization aims to build understanding and awareness of the public about the spread of the dangerous virus. The cooperation is carried out by related institutions throughout Indonesia.

"Understanding and cooperation must be carried out by all relevant parties and 64 state owned hospitals must play an active role in preventing the spread of Novel Coronavirus in Indonesia," President Director of Pertamina Central Hospital Fathema Djan Rachmat said in her written statement on Thursday, February 6, 2020.

According to her, the spread of the coronavirus can only be prevented by building awareness and cooperation of all agencies, especially referral hospitals that have been appointed by the government.

Moreover, the spread of the virus originating from Wuhan, China is so fast that medical institutions need to take steps and preparedness.

"State owned hospitals throughout Indonesia are encouraged to coordinate with the Ministry of Health, national and local health officials, and three main referral hospitals namely Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Friendship Hospital & RSPI Sulianti Saroso," she said.
