    Indonesia Extends Micro-Scale Covid-19 Restrictions until May 3

    Jakarta: The Indonesian Government has decided to extend the implementation of Micro-Scale Activity Restrictions (PPKM Mikro) from April 22 until May 3, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

    "It is based on the evaluation of the previous period," said the Coordinating Minister at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta on Monday afterrnon.

    The Coordinating Minister also helms the country's Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Working Committee (KPCPEN)

    "After reviewing the number of active cases, it will be expanded to five additional provinces, namely West Sumatra, Jambi, Bangka Belitung, Lampung and West Kalimantan," he explained. 

    In the previous period, the policy has been implemented in 15 provinces, including Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java, Bali, North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Aceh, Riau, South Sumatra, North Kalimantan, and Papua.

    "The number of active cases continues to decline," he stated.
