Jakarta: President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo today traveled to East Java Province to conduct a series of activities in Surabaya and Banyuwangi.

In Surabaya, President Jokowi visited the Covid-19 task force post in the city and gave several directives on covid-19 handling.

"I will continue to monitor data from East Java province," the president said in Surabaya on Thursday.

"If the situation improves in the next two weeks, we will be able to enter new normal and people will be able to resume their activities," he added.

In Banyuwangi, the President visited traditional markets in the regency and inspected the So Long Beach on the readiness in the implementation of the new normal order in the tourist destination.

The Government has built an integrated information system, namely “Unite Against Covid-19” (BLC), to determine zones based on levels of transmission during the outgoing pandemic.

The system can show how many regencies, cities, and provinces have changed their status from green to yellow, green to orange, green to red, or red to orange, red to yellow, and red to green.
