    Jakarta to Establish More Covid-19 Vaccination Centers

    Jakarta: The Jakarta provincial government will establish more covid-19 vaccination centers in Indonesia's capital to boost the vaccination drive in the countrt, a local official has said.

    According to Suharti, Acting Assistant for Public Welfare of the Jakarta Regional Secretariat, the local government will also provide transportation services to elderly covid-19 vaccine recipients.

    "We will provide buses and motorcyle taxis," she said in a written statement on Monday.

    "Large vaccination centers will be supported by the Ministry of Health. The personnel will come from both local and central governments. The local government will also prepare vaccination centers in every district, community health center, and hospital," she explained.

    Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force reported 4,829 new coronavirus cases today, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indonesia to 1,571,824.
    From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 5,289 to 1,419,796.
    In the past 24 hours, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 126 to 42,656.
