"The cargo was transported with Lion Air," said Sultan Iskandar Muda Airbase Commander Colonel Mohamad Satriyo Utomo.
According to the Indonesian Air Force official, the cargo was then taken to the head office of the Aceh Province Health Agency.
"We have received 14,000 doses of the Sinovac covid-19 vaccine and we are now waiting for instructions from the central government," said the Aceh Province Health Agency's Disease Control and Prevention Imam Murahman.
The Indoenesian government plans to launch its covid-19 vaccination program this month. The first group to be vaccinated is medical staff in the upcoming one to three months. There are 1.3 millions of medical staff in 34 provinces who serve as the frontier in fighting against covid-19 pandemic.
On the second phase, the Indonesian government will give vaccine to 17.4 million public officers, followed by 21.5 million of senior citizens aged 60 years and above
The last group to be vaccinated is the general public.
