Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Thursday noon to Friday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries in Indonesia increased by 4,088 to 170,774.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths was up by 114 to 9,336.
The Indonesian Government is currently focusing on flattening the covid-19 infection curve in nine provinces with the highest transmission rates.
Those nine provinces are Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Papua, and Bali.
According to National Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito, the decision to determine those nine provinces as the government’s priority is based on several considerations, including the number of active cases, the rate of new cases, the death percentage, the death rate, and the characteristics of the region.
