Indonesia's Covid-19 Task Force Logs 9,775 New Coronavirus Cases

Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Tuesday reported 9,775 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indonesia to 1,298,608.
 
From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 7,996 to 1,104,990.
 
Within the same period, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 323 to 35,014.

Last week, the Government decided to extend the Enforcement of Micro-Scale Restrictions on Community Activity (PPKM Mikro) in the islands of Java and Bali from February 23 to March 8.



Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, who also helms the Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee, made the announcement in a press conference on Saturday.

According to the Minister, the extension is a follow-up to the evaluation results on the effectiveness of the first phase of PPKM Mikro from February 9-22.
