Megawati, Surya Paloh Have Good Relatiionship: Puan

Jakarta: House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani said that Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri and NasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh have a good relationship.

"They don't have a bad relationship. Politics is dynamic. So it is not unusual. They are very close," the PDIP politician said here on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Megawati attended NasDem Party's anniversary event at JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta on Monday night. Surya even greeted the PDIP leader in front of the entrance gate.

"They used an elevator together. Everything is fine. It showed their closeness. They are still very close," the PDIP lawmaker noted.

The new members of NasDem Party's Central Executive Board was introduced this morning. Surya Paloh was re-elected as NasDem Party chairman for the next five years.

The new NasDem Party leadeship is not much different from its predecessor. Communication and Information Minister Johnny G. Plate retained his position as Secretary-General.
