    Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his aides visited several regions in Central Kalimantan Provinces on Thursday.

    Accompanies by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Jokowi observed the site of the planned food estate in Belanti Siam, Pandih Batu, Pulang Pisau Regency.

    In addition, he also inspected an agriculture project in Bentuk Jaya, Dadahup, Kapuas Regency.

    Besides Prabowo, the president was also accompanied by Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran and Kapuas Regent Ben Brahim S. Bahat.

    Central Kalimantan Province is being prepared as a new food shed through the food estate program.

    The program is expected to significantly increase agricultural products that will meet the national’s demand, the global market, and is also expected to develop agricultural sector evenly across the country.

    After visiting Kapuas Regency, the president is scheduled to visit the Covid-19 Prevention and Mitigation Post Command at the Central Kalimantan Governor Office in Palangka Raya.
