    Jakarta: President Joko Widodo appoints Bengkulu Vice Governor, Dedi Ermansyah. The ratification took place at the State Palace, Jakarta.

    The inauguration was carried out based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 94 / P of 2019. The inauguration process began with the two governors' caretakers led by President Jokowi followed by Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tjahjo Kumolo.

    The group walked from Merdeka Palace to the State Palace. Dedi was carrying a presidential decree handed over by Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace.

    Once they arrived at the State Palace, the decree was read. Jokowi then guided Dedi to take the oath of office under a holy book.

    Dedi was elected as Deputy Governor of Bengkulu with the remaining term of 2016-2021. He was chosen through a voting mechanism chosen by 44 members of Bengkulu Province DPRD in a plenary meeting.

    The former Chairman of the DPD Nasdem Bengkulu Province received 33 votes. Meanwhile, other Deputy Governor candidates, Muslihan DS, pocketed 11 votes.
