"West Papua was the only province that did not report any new cases today," said the spokesman during a virtual press conference here on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the spokesperson, five provinces logged less than ten new covid-19 cases on Wednesday, namely Central Kalimantan (nine cases), Bangka Belitung (five cases), Maluku (five cases), North Maluku (four cases), and East Nusa Tenggara (two cases).
On the other hand, today, five provinces with the highest number of new covid-19 cases were Jakarta (1,191 cases), West Java (442 cases), West Sumatra (351 cases), Riau (301 cases), and East Java (299 cases).
On Wednesday, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,127 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 344,749.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 4,555 to 267,851, while the official covid-19 death toll in the country rose by 129 to 12,156.
