    4 Suspected Terrorists Caught in Central Java's Batang

    Jakarta: Four Suspected terrorists were arrested by the National Police's Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terror (Densus 88) in Batang, Central Java on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

    The four suspected terrorists have been identified with the initials MT, MW, NF and NS. They allegedly had links with Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) terror group. 

    MT was shot dead by police during the the opartion. The suspected terrorist reportedly tried to attack Densus 88 members with a sword.

    "They tried to attack our officers with a sword," National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Argo Yuwono said here on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

    According to him, Densus 88 also seized several pieces of evidence during the operation. Besides a sword, the investigators also confiscated a knife, 10 resistors, 24 empty plastic bottles and 24 filled plastic bottles.

    "We are still examining the content of the plastic bottles," he stated.
