    Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Tuesday reported 7,445 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 779,548.

    From Monday noon until Tuesday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients was up by 6,643 to 645,746.

    Within the same period, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll rose by 198 to 23,109.

    The Indoenesian government plans to launch its covid-19 vaccination program this month. The first group to be vaccinated is medical staff in the upcoming one to three months. There are 1.3 millions of medical staff in 34 provinces who serve as the frontier in fighting against covid-19 pandemic.
     
    On the second phase, the Indonesian government will give vaccine to 17.4 million public officers, followed by 21.5 million of senior citizens aged 60 years and above
     
    The last group to be vaccinated is the general public.
