Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has no problem with the desire of the National Police to participate in the alleged corruption case at the Indonesian Armed Forces Social Insurance Company (ASABRI). Investigation of the corruption case was considered to be better if many law enforcement officers were involved.
"If coordinated (with) all APH (law enforcement officers) is good, all that remains is to share roles and support each other," said KPK Deputy Chairman Lili Pintauli Siregar when confirmed, Jakarta on Thursday, January 16, 2020.
He did not yet know the technicality working with the Police in the investigation of alleged corruption at ASABRI. However, he is optimistic that cooperation between law enforcement will go well.
KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango stressed that the KPK will continue to investigate corruption cases in ASABRI even though the National Police has intervened. He considered the collaboration of the two agencies possible to deepen the case.
"There is no bickering (between agencies) when it comes to the eradication of corruption," Nawawi said.
Corruption allegations at ASABRI were revealed by the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD. According to him, this company is also troubled, like PT Jiwasraya, which made the state lose Rp10.4 trillion.
