"At 8 p.m. local time, rains began to recede, but none of the evacuees returned to their houses," the BNPB official stated.

The mud flood is the second to hit Sigli Regency after it had swept through Pol Village on Sunday (Dec 8, 2019) at around 6 a.m. local time. The mud flood in Pol Village inundated tens of houses resulting in several residents evacuating to safer grounds. Pol Village also bore the brunt of the flood in 2011, claiming 11 lives.
